The general social science methods are mostly “quantitative and qualitative” research methods. The methodological curriculum design with rural development as the main axis emphasizes the method of social practice to highlight the characteristics of practical research orientation. “Social Practice Research Methods” is taught in the course.
-
In line with the purpose of this course, in terms of teaching theoretical courses, the course “Regional Revitalization and Cross-boundary Governance” will be taught. “Regional Revitalization and Cross-boundary Governance Topic” will include issues such as regional population development, long-term care and local aging, school and social education, various industries and academia, agriculture and rural areas, ecological sustainability, cultural and historical preservation, and so on.
-
“Thesis Writing Topics”, 3 credits.
-
The purpose of this master’s degree program is to cultivate practical talents who are committed to regional revitalization and rural development. Therefore, the graduation threshold, in addition to writing “academic papers”, students can also select “professional practice reports” instead. Dissertation or professional practice report (choose one of the two) with 0 credits is listed as one of the requirements, and the specific form can be discussed and determined.
-
Elective courses: internship and practice.
In order for the students taking the course to be more connected with the practical world, 6 credits and 400 hours are planned in the course (the internship time is arranged in the second semester and the third semester of the Master Program: 3 credits in one semester, a total of 6 credits in one year), and students should chose one of the four elective topic fields for practice.
Thematic courses are planned in four major areas (culture, ecology, industry, and society). According to the needs of students, the program choose relevant special courses that students are interested in, and develop special courses or consider the cooperation of relevant teachers and the combination of departmental courses or the credit recognition model.
